What a weekend and what a way to wrap up the season…
We headed to Twisted Oaks Bike Park in Suffolk, UK this weekend for the Final rounds of the Schwalbe tyres British 4X Series, with all titles and podium places at stake for all members of the team, we had to keep our focus.
Lily & Jake took back-to-back wins on both days to guarantee their place in the history books and became the 2024 National Series Champions.
I was pushing hard to try and move up the Podium, with 1st place already in hand for Paul Hanks, Myself (Andy McCoy), Richard Rowland & Jon Moss battled for 2nd and 3rd…
Richard had the advantage, going into the weekend, so I threw everything I had it winning on track, that tricky first corner meant it was often better to be sitting in 3rd or 4th to carry better exit speed, as they the leading riders would get caught up together. This is exactly what happened on Saturday as I often led out but would lose the corner and only manged 5th winning the B final.
Come Sunday though lessons were learned, and I eased through moto’s made into the main event and picked up 3rd making onto the podium.
Awesome weekend and an awesome season…
