Burlish may be one of the smaller bike parks in the UK, but it certainly has one of the biggest hearts, how it maintained its core values around this historic dirt jump spot is nothing short of miraculous, well it would seem miraculous if you didn’t know who Hannah Escott is… If you do you Hannah, then it’s no surprised to you that this please full of some much passion and embodies “Bike Fam” attitudes.
As for Burlish’s history it goes right back to the beginning, before MTB and to the start of BMX originally this spot was a BMX race track in the adjacent field, started by a group of people which included Nick Bayliss aka Mr Royal Racing, as the 80’s passed it became a dirt jump spot in the nearby woods, and was so legendary its even got a BMX frame named after it.
Cut to 2020 and it was in threat, the site was set to be Bulldozed until the absolute force of nature that is Hannah Escott stepped in.
Now Burlish is an official bike park, and its future is secured.
I was great to be invited along to be part of the Jam take some photos and shoot a bit of video and soak up the vibe.
